Palestinian Ministry Appeals Against School Demolition in Masafer Yatta

Ramallah: The Palestinian Ministry of Education has issued an urgent appeal for intervention to halt the decision to demolish a school in Masafer Yatta. The ministry emphasizes the critical need to protect children's right to education in this and other marginalized areas.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education has called on human rights organizations, international organizations, and diplomatic missions to take responsibility in safeguarding educational rights. This follows the Israeli occupation authorities' decision to demolish the Palestine Mixed Elementary School in Masafer Yatta within a week.

The ministry, in its statement issued Wednesday, urged for immediate action to stop what it describes as an unjust decision. It stressed the importance of protecting educational institutions in areas under threat and holding the occupation accountable for the consequences of such actions. The decision is seen as a part of a broader policy aimed at disrupting students' access to education, especially in regions facing forced displacement.
