Palestinian Meteorological Department Warns of Severe Weather Conditions

Ramallah: Cold, partially cloudy conditions with a low-pressure system are set to affect the region this evening, as reported by the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD). The department forecasts a drop in temperatures, bringing cold weather, especially in the mountainous areas.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the evening and night are expected to bring very cold and windy conditions, with heavy rain anticipated. Occasional thunderstorms and hail are likely, with winds blowing from the southwest to west, reaching gusts of up to 80 km/h. The sea is expected to be rough during this period.

On Tuesday, the impact of the low-pressure system will intensify, resulting in cloudy, very cold, and windy conditions across the country. Temperatures are expected to fall significantly below average, with heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, accompanied by occasional hail. Winds will remain strong, and sea waves will continue to be high.

The weather on Wednesday will be cloudy to partly cloudy, with cold to very cold conditions prevailing. There is a continued chance of scattered showers, although the low-pressure system is expected to weaken by midday, resulting in a slight rise in temperatures. Winds will shift from the west to northwest, with sea waves remaining high.

Thursday will see partly cloudy skies, with a slight increase in temperatures, although conditions will remain cool. There is a possibility of light, scattered showers in some areas, with light to moderate winds blowing from the southwest to northwest. Sea waves are expected to be moderately high.

During the period of the low-pressure system, the PMD has issued warnings regarding the dangers of strong winds, flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas, slippery roads due to hail, reduced horizontal visibility, and high sea waves.
