Bethlehem: The Palestinian Civil Affairs Authority informed the Ministry of Health on Tuesday evening that Mahdi Muhammad Awad Diriya, 32, was shot dead by Israeli forces south of Bethlehem. Israeli troops allegedly opened fire on Diriya after he carried out a car-ramming attack near the town of Al-Khader.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli forces shut down all main and secondary entrances to Bethlehem Governorate. Security and local sources reported that Israeli troops closed all main and secondary entrances, including the Container checkpoint, the Nashash, the eastern entrances to the town of Al-Khader, the western entrances to the city of Beit Jala, the entrances to the town of Tuqu', and other entrances.
The occupation army claimed the measures followed a reported car-ramming and shooting attack. Troops were also deployed along Bypass Road No. 60.
