Palestinian leader to visit Cairo for Egypt-Jordan-Palestine summit
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is set to arrive in Cairo for an official visit on Sunday to partake in an Egyptian-Jordanian-Palestinian summit, said the Palestinian ambassador to Egypt Saturday.
The gathering will bring together President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi and King of Jordan Abdullah II, in addition to the Palestinian leader, in Egypt’s northwestern New Alamein City, Diab Al-Louh said in a press statement.
The summit reflects persistent consultation and cooperation about various issues at Arab, regional and international levels, he added.
It is mainly intended to unify the leaders’ visions about ways of putting an end to the agony of the Palestinian people and helping them restore their legitimate rights, primarily an independent state with Jerusalem being its capital, he pointed out.
