Palestinian Cabinet Denounces Israeli Measures and Calls for Adherence to Palestinian Law

Ramallah: The Palestinian Cabinet on Tuesday issued a directive to all public and private institutions to reject Israeli measures and strictly adhere to Palestinian laws. This decision comes in response to the recent actions by the Israeli Knesset's Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and the Israeli government, which the Cabinet views as illegal steps aimed at obstructing the establishment of a Palestinian state. These measures include settlement expansion, establishment of military checkpoints, and withholding Palestinian clearance revenues, all aimed at imposing Israeli control over occupied Palestinian territories.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Cabinet reaffirmed its opposition to any changes to the historical and legal status of Islamic and Christian holy sites, specifically condemning the Israeli decision to transfer authority over the Ibrahimi Mosque from the Hebron Municipality to the Israeli Civil Administration. During the Cabinet session, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa emphasized that these Israeli policies violate international law and agreements, as well as the international consensus reflected in the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice and the New York Declaration.

Prime Minister Mustafa stated that Israeli decisions will not prevent Palestinians from pursuing their right to an independent state. Under President Mahmoud Abbas's leadership, the Palestinian government continues diplomatic and legal efforts with international partners to counter these measures. The Prime Minister applauded the support from the United Nations, the European Union, Arab and Islamic countries, and other nations opposing Israeli policies and urged for continued international backing to protect Palestinian rights.

The Cabinet also announced plans to launch over 300 infrastructure projects across the West Bank, benefiting 138 local authorities and addressing the impacts of Israeli aggression. Efforts in the Gaza Strip include expanding educational sites, repairing water networks, and providing humanitarian aid.

Prime Minister Mustafa stressed the importance of national unity in confronting Israeli actions and reiterated the Cabinet's commitment to supporting the Palestinian people. Despite Israel's withholding of revenues, the Ministry of Finance is working to disburse salaries before Ramadan. Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed and approved a draft Law on Reducing the Use of Cash and approved contracts for specialist physicians to localize medical services.

The Cabinet's decisions reflect a continued commitment to Palestinian sovereignty and resilience in the face of Israeli measures, while seeking international support and unity in the Palestinian cause.
