Israeli Authorities Issue Renewable Bans on Al-Aqsa Mosque Access for Two Jerusalem Residents

Jerusalem: Israeli authorities on Tuesday barred two Jerusalem residents from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem for a renewable period of one week.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Jerusalem Governorate documented 100 forced banning orders issued by the occupation during January, with 95 specifically targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque. The actual number of banning orders may be higher than documented due to the strict restrictions imposed by occupation authorities. These restrictions include threats to renew bans if individuals speak to the media or publicly discuss their banning circumstances, making accurate documentation challenging.

It has additionally been observed that the occupation authorities have resorted to notifying individuals of several banning decisions via WhatsApp text messages, further complicating the accurate tracking of such orders.
