Over 20 Aid Agencies Demand Immediate Action to Halt Gaza Genocide

Gaza city: More than 20 international aid agencies sent an urgent letter to the United Nations and heads of state around the world, calling for immediate intervention to halt Israel's genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the agencies based their letter on findings from the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry, which concluded that Israel has committed four of the five acts of genocide defined in the 1948 Convention.

The letter warned that the situation in Gaza is the most deadly in the Strip's history unless urgent action is taken. The aid agencies also highlighted the severe impact of the continued blockade and attacks, warning that such actions will completely drain life in the Gaza Strip. They called on governments to take decisive steps to stop the violence and end the occupation.

Furthermore, the aid agencies expressed grave concern over the militarization of the humanitarian aid system in Gaza, describing it as a deadly threat. Thousands of individuals have been shot while attempting to access essential resources like food and water. The agencies emphasized the urgent need for intervention to prevent further loss of life and alleviate the humanitarian crisis.

These demands come amid ongoing operations by the Israeli occupation army against Gaza City, which include extensive raids and shelling of the northern and western neighborhoods. The military campaign involves two divisions of soldiers, with relentless targeting of buildings and residential towers.

The death toll from the occupation's aggression on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 64,964 documented fatalities, with an additional 165,312 injuries reported. In the past 24 hours alone, three deaths due to famine and malnutrition were recorded, bringing the total number of deaths from malnutrition to 425, including 145 children.
