Ramallah: Over 120 Palestinians have been detained by Israeli occupation forces in the occupied West Bank since the beginning of the week, including children and women, in addition to hostages and former detainees.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) reported that the arrest operations have intensified in the West Bank governorates, with significant focus on Hebron, Jenin, Qalqilya, and Nablus. Between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning alone, at least 30 Palestinians were detained.
The PPS emphasized that these detention campaigns are escalating alongside Israel's ongoing military actions in Gaza. The raids are reported to involve field executions, home demolitions, vandalism, violent interrogations, and severe beatings, with some Palestinians being held as hostages.
The PPS has recorded that since the onset of the recent aggression, approximately 19,000 Palestinians have been detained in the West Bank. This number includes over 590 women and around 1,550 children. These figures account for individuals who remain in detention as well as those who were subsequently released, but they do not include thousands of detainees from Gaza.
