One Killed, Another Critically Injured in Yarka Shooting Incident Amid Rising Anger Over Police Inaction


Yarka: One person was killed, and another was critically injured in a shooting at a car showroom in the town of Yarka in the 1948 territories. The incident has increased the number of people killed in the Palestinian community inside the 1948 territories to 23 since the beginning of the year.



According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the shooting comes amidst ongoing public protests against the spread of organized crime in the area, and the alleged complicity of Israeli authorities and police. The community has voiced strong criticism regarding the authorities’ failure to effectively tackle the rising crime rates.



The Palestinian community within the 1948 territories is expressing significant anger over the growing crime rates and perceived police complicity. The murder toll, since the start of the year, now stands at 23, including one woman. This situation has sparked intensified protests demanding better security measures and accountability from the police.



In 2025, a record number of murders were documented, with 252 Arabs losing their lives. This unprecedented number has fueled accusations against the Israeli police of negligence and complicity, leading to a lack of security and safety for Arab citizens.
