Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Oil Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad met today with the Secretary-General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Haitham Al-Ghais. During the meeting, they discussed enhancing and expanding the horizons of bilateral cooperation between the ministry and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), in addition to cooperation and coordination with allied producing countries from outside the organization, in order to achieve stability in global markets. The Minister's office stated in a statement, "The Secretary-General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) had arrived in Baghdad earlier today on an official visit during which he will meet a number of officials in the ministry and the government."
