London: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, welcomed the announcement by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer of his country's intention to recognize the State of Palestine next September.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Taha affirmed that this step aligns with international law and relevant UN resolutions, representing a significant support for the Palestinian people's right to self-determination. He emphasized that recognizing the State of Palestine is a political, legal, and moral duty, forming a basis for achieving peace and contributing to the protection and implementation of the two-state solution.
Taha reiterated his call to states that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to do so and to support its full membership in the United Nations.
