OIC Denounces Israeli Actions to Expand Control in West Bank

Jeddah: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has firmly expressed its rejection of recent Israeli actions aimed at intensifying the annexation of the occupied West Bank. The OIC's executive committee, in an emergency meeting at the level of foreign ministers, released a final communique stating its condemnation of Israel's measures intended to deepen annexation policies.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the OIC labeled the Israeli actions as null and void, calling for their immediate reversal. The organization reiterated the importance of the Palestinian issue and the significance of Al-Quds Al-Shareef to the Islamic world, emphasizing the need for a unified stance to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites.

The OIC highlighted the principles of the United Nations Charter, particularly the inadmissibility of territorial acquisition by force. It expressed steadfast support for the Palestinian people and their leadership in seeking self-determination and the establishment of an independent state within the 1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Shareef as its capital.

Furthermore, the OIC underscored the right of return for Palestinian refugees as per United Nations Resolution 194 and the need to maintain the unity of Palestinian territories, asserting that the West Bank and Gaza Strip form an indivisible entity.

The organization condemned the Israeli occupation's recent decisions, including those by the Israeli "Cabinet," to impose a colonial settlement reality in the West Bank. It urged the revocation of these decisions and demanded Israel implement a ceasefire in Gaza, adhere to the US President Trump's plan, and withdraw occupation forces.

The OIC also called for the full responsibility of the State of Palestine, backed by Arab and international support, to open Gaza crossings, facilitate reconstruction, and ensure humanitarian aid delivery.

Resolute in its position, the OIC vowed to confront Israeli policies through political and legal avenues, including actions before international bodies. It reaffirmed that peace in the Middle East hinges on ending the Israeli occupation and implementing the Arab Peace Initiative, ensuring compliance with international law and relevant resolutions.
