Jerusalem: Around 100,000 Muslim worshipers performed Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied city of Jerusalem despite tightened Israeli restrictions, according to the Jerusalem Governorate.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the occupation forces prevented thousands of worshipers from reaching the Al-Aqsa Mosque, turning many back at the Qalandia checkpoint and Checkpoint 300, north and south of the city.
Israeli forces have recently increased their military presence across Jerusalem and at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, aiming to restrict access to the site. Occupation authorities have also issued orders barring over 300 Palestinian citizens of Jerusalem from entering Al-Aqsa during the holy month.
