Post: OIC Denounces Israeli Actions in Gaza Strip

Jeddah: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has issued a strong condemnation against the escalating Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip. The General Secretariat of the OIC expressed its disapproval of the continuing violations and crimes in the occupied Palestinian territory, highlighting the targeting of health and residential facilities and the destruction of tents housing displaced individuals. These actions have resulted in numerous civilian casualties and injuries, which the OIC deems as clear violations of international law and humanitarian principles.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the General Secretariat has raised concerns over the increasing colonial settlement activities and organized violence by extremist settlers, which are reportedly occurring under the protection of Israeli forces across the occupied West Bank, including in Jerusalem. The OIC is urging for decisive actions to halt these violations and ensure accountability for those responsible.

The OIC reiterated the necessity for Israel, as the occupying power, to fulfill its obligations as per the ceasefire agreement. The organization calls for the initiation of the second phase of the peace plan outlined in UN Security Council Resolution 2803, which includes the opening of all crossings, ensuring unobstructed aid delivery, and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces. The OIC also emphasizes the importance of maintaining the unity of Palestinian territory and empowering the Government of the State of Palestine to fulfill its duties across all occupied areas, including the Gaza Strip.
