Ramallah: Israeli occupation forces killed 45 Palestinians and wounded 232 others within a week, marking a significant escalation in violence. Between July 28 and August 3, 2026, the OIC Media Observatory on Israeli Crimes Against Palestinians recorded these fatalities and injuries, with the majority occurring in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, one body was recovered, and 21 Palestinians sustained injuries in the West Bank. The cumulative toll of Palestinians killed since October 7, 2023, reached 74,526, with 179,198 injured.
According to Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the week saw 344 incursions by Israeli forces into West Bank cities and villages, resulting in the arrest of 162 Palestinians. The Observatory documented 134 settler attacks, 22 settler activities, and 1,052 crimes across the West Bank. The occupation forces demolished 17 houses, a horse farm, nine barns, and fences, and confiscated land and properties, including a road roller, a vehicle, and a mobile home. They also undertook construction activities for settlement expansion in several areas.
Israeli forces detained students and staff at the Qalandia Technical Training Institute and banned the Holy Quran Radio station in Qalqilya. Additionally, settlers engaged in violent acts, including injuring a six-year-old girl and shooting a child in the West Bank. Attacks on places of worship were also recorded, with settlers targeting the Armenian Church in Jerusalem.
The OIC Observatory noted 16 incidents where settlers released livestock into various areas, resulting in property damage. Fires were set to agricultural plots and infrastructure, and trees were destroyed in several towns. Settlers disrupted public services by cutting water and electricity supplies, and continued settlement expansions by erecting mobile homes and seizing lands.
Colonists seized properties, including a house in Deir Ammar and a spring in Al-Bireh, while announcing new settlement outposts. These actions underline the ongoing tension and conflict in the region.
