Jeddah: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the visit of US House Speaker Mike Johnson, who led a congressional delegation to the illegal Israeli colony of Ariel in the occupied West Bank.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the OIC considered this visit a violation of United Nations resolutions, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 2334. This resolution affirms that Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Al-Quds, are illegal and urges all states to differentiate between the territories of the occupied State of Palestine and the State of Israel.
The OIC emphasized that the visit contributes to the continuation of settlement activities and organized settler actions against the Palestinian people.
The organization also urged the international community, especially the United States, to fulfill its political and legal obligations to pressure Israel to halt settlement policies, settler actions, and daily activities, and to comply with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions.
