Gaza: The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) announced today that 1,373 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli occupation forces since May 27 while waiting for humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, a press release from the UN Human Rights Office highlighted that 859 people were killed near Gaza Relief Foundation sites, and 514 along food convoy routes. Most of these deaths were attributed to actions by the Israeli military.
The office further documented that within two days, July 30 and 31, 105 Palestinians were killed and at least 680 others injured along aid convoy routes in northern Gaza, southern Khan Yunis, and near Gaza Relief Foundation sites in central Gaza and Rafah.
The statement emphasized that shooting and shelling by Israeli forces persisted along food convoy routes and near Gaza Relief Foundation locations. This continued despite an announcement by the Israeli army on July 27 about a limited pause in military operations to facilitate humanitarian efforts.
