Gaza: The Palestinian government today praised the pivotal role played by Egypt's leadership, government, and people in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people, consolidating the ceasefire, and working towards a comprehensive end to the war on the Gaza Strip. In a statement issued Friday evening, the Palestinian government commended the ongoing efforts of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the Egyptian government in coordinating relief operations with international and UN agencies active in Gaza, as well as the preparations underway for the upcoming international conference for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the government also expressed its full solidarity with the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt in the face of political and media pressures and campaigns. It affirmed its appreciation for Egypt's firm stance rejecting the forced displacement of the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian government highlighted Egypt's support for the unity of Palestinian national institutions and their political representation, which guarantees the protection of Palestinian legitimate rights and the realization of a Palestinian state in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and Gaza.
