Occupation Forces Resume Construction of Colonial Road Southeast of Bethlehem

Bethlehem: Israeli occupation forces resumed construction today of a colonial road in the lands of Tuqu' town, southeast of Bethlehem.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Tuqu' Mayor Tayseer Abu Mufreh stated that the occupation forces returned today to continue building the colonial road, a project they initiated some time ago in the eastern part of the town. The road stretches approximately 10 kilometers, starting from the Tekoa "A" colony and extending to the Tuqu' wilderness, running close to residents' homes. If completed, it threatens the confiscation of vast areas of land.

Mayor Abu Mufreh highlighted the negative repercussions of the road construction, including the uprooting of numerous olive trees, hindering farmers' access to their lands, damaging the water network, and isolating the town from the surrounding wilderness.
