Gaza: The Israeli occupation authorities today forced a Palestinian resident of Jerusalem to demolish his own home in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Jabal al-Mukaber.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources reported that Adham Bassam Oweisat began demolishing his house with his own hands following an order issued by the Israeli municipality of West Jerusalem. The order cited the lack of a building permit as the reason for the demolition.
The house, constructed in 2019, measures no more than 50 square meters. Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem face such challenges frequently, often compelled to demolish their own homes to avoid incurring heavy fines if the Israeli municipality conducts the demolition itself.
