Occupation Forces Demolish Residential Building Near Hebron

Hebron: Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished two homes in the town of Ni'lin, west of Ramallah, and a residential building in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, on Monday morning.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, occupation forces stormed the town of Ni'lin and surrounded two homes belonging to siblings Nael and Raed Reda Surur before demolishing them under the pretext that they were built without a permit. These homes consist of three floors and were constructed several years ago.

In Beit Ummar, occupation bulldozers began demolishing a residential building located in the Wadi al-Wahdain area, south of Beit Ummar, opposite the Karmei Tzur colony, which was forcibly built on private land. The seven-story building, each with an area of 210 square meters, was under construction and owned by Mohammad Issa Hussein Alqam. The building owner had received a demolition notice two months earlier, with a 60-day deadline, but the demolition occurred before this deadline expired. Additionally, 10 homes in the same area face a similar threat of demolition due to their proximity to Karmei Tzur colony.

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission has warned against the policy of demolishing citizens' homes, viewing it as an attempt to restrict Palestinian construction and natural growth in Palestinian areas, under the pretext of lacking permits. This strategy is seen as a means to displace Palestinians and isolate them in confined areas.

In March, occupation authorities conducted 58 demolition operations, affecting 87 structures, including 39 inhabited homes, 6 uninhabited homes, and 26 agricultural and other structures. During the same period, 46 Palestinian facilities were issued demolition orders, concentrated in Tulkarm, Jenin, Bethlehem, and Hebron.

This demolition activity occurs amid ongoing aggression by the Israeli occupation army against refugee camps, towns, and cities in the northern West Bank, which began on January 21. The escalation of attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, has resulted in significant casualties and arrests among Palestinians.
