Hebron: Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday demolished a minaret under construction for a mosque in Dura, south of Hebron. WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by bulldozers, stormed the town of Dura from its eastern entrance, heading towards the al-Hijra suburb. They forced residents to evacuate the area and closed the roads leading to it. They then bulldozed a minaret under construction for the suburb's mosque.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Saher al-Darawish, director of the Southern Endowments Department, stated that the Israeli occupation forces began demolishing a 15-meter-high minaret attached to the al-Farouq Mosque in the al-Hijra suburb. The forces claimed the demolition was due to the lack of a permit and its location opposite a military tower erected on citizens' land at the entrance to the town.
