Occupation Forces Bulldoze Land Southeast of Bethlehem

Bethlehem: Israeli occupation forces began bulldozing land in the town of Tuqu', southeast of Bethlehem, on Wednesday.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the head of the Tuqu' Municipal Council, Tayseer Abu Mufreh, reported that the occupation forces initiated bulldozing activities in the "Al-Arbidat" area to the north. This action is part of efforts to complete a colonial road recently constructed in the eastern part of the town. The new road is intended to connect with the road leading to the "Tekoa A" colony, established on Palestinian-owned land.

Abu Mufreh highlighted that this measure could lead to the confiscation of thousands of dunams of land planted with olive trees, severing the town center from the surrounding countryside of Tuqu'. Additionally, he noted that residents may be prevented from accessing their land in the eastern part of the town. The proximity of the road to residential areas poses a risk to the safety of the residents, as it is situated only meters from their homes.

He called upon humanitarian organizations and the international community to intervene and halt this action, emphasizing the negative impact it could have on the daily lives of the citizens and the threat it poses to their continued presence in the region.
