Nablus: Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday evening besieged a house and abducted a Palestinian from the Beit Iba town, west of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources. They reported that Israeli special forces infiltrated the town and, alongside uniformed occupation forces, surrounded a house while opening live ammunition toward it. This operation resulted in the abduction of a young Palestinian man from the premises.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the occupation forces frequently conduct raids on Palestinian houses across the West Bank almost daily. These operations are carried out under the pretext of searching for 'wanted' Palestinians, often leading to clashes with local residents. Such raids are executed without the requirement of a search warrant, highlighting the extensive arbitrary powers granted to the military.
Under the existing Israeli military law, army commanders possess full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over approximately 3 million Palestinians residing in the West Bank. Palestinians have no influence over how this authority is implemented, leaving them vulnerable to the military's discretionary actions.
