Abu dis: The Israeli occupation authorities today notified Palestinian residents of plans to demolish residential and agricultural structures east of the town of Abu Dis, southeast of occupied Jerusalem. The Jerusalem Governorate reported that 23 demolition notices were distributed, threatening dozens of residents with displacement and loss of their livelihoods.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reported that the occupation authorities conducted 59 demolition operations in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, during January. These operations targeted 126 structures, comprising 77 inhabited homes, six uninhabited homes, 37 agricultural structures, and four facilities related to livelihoods.
The Commission further noted that the occupation authorities issued 40 demolition notices for Palestinian structures in the same month. This is part of ongoing restrictions on Palestinian construction and natural growth in Palestinian villages and towns, reflected in the increase in demolition operations.
