Geneva: The National Center for Human Rights (NCHR) has submitted a parallel report to Jordan's fourth periodic report, presented during the 81st session of the United Nations Committee Against Torture (CAT) in Geneva, concerning the list of issues adopted by the committee. According to Jordan News Agency, in a statement issued Wednesday, the center noted that Commissioner-General Jamal Shamayleh delivered a closed briefing to the committee, outlining the country's legal and policy measures against torture. He also highlighted recent positive strides Jordan has made in strengthening its commitment to human rights in this area. During the session, the delegation, which included Commissioner for Protection Nahla Momani, responded to the committee's questions regarding the implementation and enforcement of the Convention Against Torture in Jordan.
