North Korea said on Monday it had deployed 250 type tactical ballistic missile launchers to the inter-Korean border area. South Korea's News Agency (Yonhap) quoted the North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) as saying that 250 new-type tactical ballistic missile launchers were transferred to military units stationed along the inter-Korean border on Sunday. Photos released by the KCNA suggest that the transferred weapon system is the "Hwasong-11" launcher, which is expected to be deployed in the military demarcation line area with South Korea, Yonhap said. Tensions remain high along the inter-Korean border, where buffer zones established under a 2018 inter-Korean military agreement were scrapped after North Korea conducted live-fire drills near the western sea border earlier in February.
