Mustafa: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa stated today that the government is making continuous efforts to achieve security, economic, and financial stability in the West Bank while working to end the Israeli aggression on Gaza. During his visit to Bethlehem Governorate, Mustafa met with local leaders, institutions, and officials, including Bethlehem Governor Mohammad Abu Alia. The discussions focused on the current political situation, the ongoing genocide in Gaza, its regional and international ramifications, and the government's plans for economic development, institutional reform, and post-war reconstruction. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Prime Minister emphasized the government's relentless work towards peace and stability amidst the ongoing Israeli attacks on Gaza. He highlighted the significant challenges faced due to Israel's aggression, reoccupation of Gaza, and efforts to isolate the West Bank from Gaza, aimed at preventing the establishment of an independent Palesti nian state. Mustafa underscored the Palestinian government's commitment, under President Mahmoud Abbas's leadership, to intense diplomatic efforts to stop the genocidal offensive on Gaza. He also pointed out the focus on urgent humanitarian aid, reconstruction efforts, and reuniting Palestinian institutions in the West Bank and Gaza post-aggression. He stressed the necessity of collective responsibility in the current phase to alleviate the suffering in Gaza, address the destruction, and tackle the catastrophic humanitarian situation. Mustafa called for national unity and reconciliation, stating that ending division is crucial for moving toward an independent Palestinian state. The Prime Minister highlighted continuous efforts to maintain stability in the West Bank amid Israeli attempts to escalate the conflict. He mentioned the government's work to ensure security and economic stability despite Israel's intensified campaigns in the northern West Bank, targeting refugee camps and aiming to dismantle the re fugee issue. Mustafa addressed the severe financial constraints imposed by the Israeli occupation, including withholding tax revenues and checkpoints disrupting citizen movement. He concluded with concerns over withheld Palestinian tax revenues, stating that Israel continues to withhold over 500 million shekels monthly from the Palestinian Authority, resulting in billions of dollars in lost funds. He noted that efforts are ongoing to recover these funds and ensure financial independence for the Palestinian people.
