The Ministry of Health inaugurated the first scientific day for quality and patient safety at the Jordan Health Forum on Wednesday, marking the annual "Day of Change" under the theme "Improving Diagnosis for Patient Safety." Secretary-General for Administrative and Technical Affairs, Elham Khreisat, representing the Minister of Health, emphasized the ministry's dedication to providing top-tier healthcare through precise and rapid medical diagnoses. She highlighted that accurate diagnosis forms the foundation of effective treatment, safeguarding patients' lives, reducing health risks from unnecessary treatments, and cutting healthcare costs. Khreisat further noted that enhancing diagnostic accuracy is a shared responsibility among all medical team members. The ministry has introduced advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) devices, developed safe diagnostic protocols, and invested in training healthcare workers to make informed decisions. Additionally, patients are actively involved in each stage of the d iagnostic process. The ministry has also created the National Strategy for Quality and Patient Safety (2024-2030), supported by the World Health Organization (WHO), the European Union, and the National Steering Committee, aiming to elevate healthcare standards and ensure safe, effective, and high-quality care for citizens, she stated. Safaa Ouran, Director of the Institutional Development and Quality Control Directorate, stated that the scientific day aims to foster a culture of quality and patient safety within the healthcare system. She announced the launch of the Best Innovative Idea Competition, encouraging ministry employees to contribute innovative ideas to enhance the quality of care and improve patient experiences.
