Nablus: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Hani Al-Hayek and Minister of Culture Imad Hamdan emphasized the significance of governmental initiatives, in collaboration with key stakeholders, to include the town of Sebastia, located in the Nablus Governorate, on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, Al-Hayek expressed that recognizing the archaeological site as a World Heritage Site will add to the Palestinian sites already listed, aiding in the preservation of Palestinian archaeological sites and drawing tourists from across the globe.
Hamdan, on his part, underscored Sebastia's role as a fundamental component of the Palestinian historical narrative. He confirmed the Ministry of Culture's commitment to offering all necessary support and collaboration to ensure the successful inscription of Sebastia on the World Heritage List.
