Minister of Communications, Hiyam Al-Yasiri stressed, today, Wednesday, the importance of Iraq's safe path to transfer international capacity traffic through (transit) projects. The ministry stated in a statement that "Minister of Communications Hiyam Al-Yasiri met, today, Wednesday, with a delegation from the senior management of the Bahraini company Batelco, as part of its continuous efforts with the private sector to enhance joint cooperation with solid international and Arab companies specialized in the communications and information technology sector." The ministry added that "Al-Yasiri listened during the meeting to the proposals of the Bahraini delegation to Batelco, which specializes in communications and submarine cables, about opening up prospects for work with Iraqi companies and entering into strategic partnerships with Iraq to invest in its geographical location to pass international communications capacities through it, reaching Europe." According to the statement, Al-Yasiri stressed: "The im portance of Iraq's safe path to transfer international capacity traffic through (transit) projects, which makes it a successful competitor to other corridors in the region."
