MFS Urges Immediate Humanitarian Aid Surge into Gaza

Gaza City: M©decins Sans Fronti¨res (MSF), known internationally as Doctors Without Borders, has emphasized its unwavering commitment to providing essential medical care to the people in Gaza. The humanitarian needs in the region have reached catastrophic levels, necessitating an urgent and large-scale increase in global humanitarian aid both into and within the Gaza Strip.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, MSF has called on Israeli authorities to immediately facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, enable medical evacuations, and ensure access to the northern regions, which have been under siege since October 2024. The organization highlights the dire situation over the past 15 months, during which hospital rooms have been inundated with patients suffering from severe injuries, including severed limbs and other trauma inflicted by strikes. Many individuals are also in distress, desperately searching for the bodies of their family members.

The ongoing conflict has severely impacted health facilities and medical staff, with reports of attacks on these essential services. Tragically, eight MSF staff members have lost their lives during the ongoing war. Additionally, the organization has expressed concern over the alarming number of individuals from Gaza and the West Bank who have been arbitrarily detained, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
