Post: Israel to Halt Construction, Demolish Facilities Near Jerusalem

Jerusalem: The Israeli occupation authorities issued notices on Monday to halt construction and demolish several facilities and buildings in the towns of Silwan, Issawiya, and the Bir al-Maskoub community, east of Jerusalem.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local sources reported that the occupation forces notified the halt of construction of two facilities in the Bedouin community of Bir al-Maskoub, while also notifying the demolition of several facilities and buildings in the towns of Issawiya and Silwan. Additionally, there were notifications for the removal of iron roofs from several commercial facilities in these towns.

The report from the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission detailed that the occupation authorities conducted 684 demolition operations during 2024, demolishing 903 facilities in the West Bank, including the city of Jerusalem. The demolition operations were primarily concentrated in the Jerusalem governorate, with 190 operations, followed by the Hebron governorate with 172 operations, and the Bethlehem governorate with 68 operations.
