Maysan Governor "Habib Zaher Al-Fartousi" held an expanded meeting in the presence of a representative of the Prime Minister and representatives of the Ministry of Oil, the Department of International Contracts and Licensing, and the Directors of the Chinese PetroChina and Sinopec companies, the Director of licensing rounds, and the Directors of districts and sub-districts, to discuss the frameworks of joint cooperation and the late dues in favor of the governorate's office according to the contracts of licensing rounds for oil companies operating in Maysan Governorate. The Governor said: "This meeting comes to discuss the reality of the oil sector in the governorate from the gate of the oil companies contracted to invest in the oil fields in the governorate, and the necessity of adhering to the terms of the contract concluded among them, including employing workers from the governorate's people and benefiting from the amounts of social benefits in employing them in the form of service projects for the areas surrounding the oil fields and releasing the amounts owed by the operating oil companies according to a new mechanism that achieves the desired benefit from the terms of the contract concluded with these companies." He added: "Maysan has strived to provide a safe environment for oil investment companies in a manner consistent with the nature of their work and the foreign cadres working Pointing out that there is negligence on the part of Maysan Oil Company and foreign companies (PetroChina and Sinopec) and it is necessary to correct the mistakes according to studied paths and plans that benefit the people of the province.
