Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed today, Saturday, that he 'will extend the hand of friendship to everyone,' in his first statement after announcing his victory in the second round of the Iranian presidential elections. Pezeshkian said, in a statement reported by Iranian media: 'We will extend the hand of friendship to everyone.' He added: "We must seek the help of everyone for Iran's progress. We are all the people of this country." He added: "I am not supported by a party or entity, and the people are the ones who elected me." The Iranian Ministry of Interior announced, early today, Saturday, that the reformist candidate, Masoud Pazeshkian, had won the Iranian presidential elections. According to the Iranian Presidential Election Commission, the participation rate in the second round of the presidential elections was 49.8%. The committee indicated that the total votes counted amounted to 30,530,157 votes. According to the Iranian Election Commission, Masoud Pezeshkian received 16 mi llion 384 thousand and 403 votes, meaning he won by (53.6%), while the rival candidate, Saeed Jalili, received 13,538,179 votes, or 44.3%.
