Macron: Nothing justifies the significant civilian casualties in Gaza

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday that the significant civilian casualties in the Gaza Strip cannot be justified, underscoring the pressing need to bring an end to the ongoing conflict.

He made these remarks during a speech to the Moroccan Parliament, addressing the ongoing Israeli violence and genocide against Palestinians in Gaza, which has persisted for over a year.

Macron stressed that the current situation in the Middle East resembles a maze, stating that there is no justification for the significant civilian casualties occurring in Gaza.

Macron emphasized the necessity of a ceasefire in Gaza, stating that France has been calling for this since last November to protect the population and allow humanitarian aid to reach the Gaza Strip.

Macron said that he has called for a halt to military exports to Israel to end the war in Lebanon and Gaza.

He stressed that France supports the right of Palestinians, Lebanese and Israelis to live in security and peace, and for all displaced persons to
return to their homes.
