Liaison Officers Conference Enforces Boycott on Companies Violating Arab Boycott of Israel

Cairo: The 97th session of the Conference of Liaison Officers of Arab Boycott of Israel has approved the blacklisting of several companies found violating the Arab boycott regulations. These companies were identified for their involvement in investing in illegal colonial settlements and supporting the Israeli economy and military.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the conference also issued warnings to other companies, urging them to withdraw their investments and cease any cooperation with the Israeli colonial and settlement regime. In its final communiqu©, the conference emphasized the importance of reinforcing the role of Arab boycott offices and continuing coordination with the Central Boycott Office to ensure the enforcement of decisions and monitor any violations.

The conference, chaired by Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and the Occupied Arab Territories Affairs at the Arab League, Saeed Abu Ali, along with representatives from member states and a delegate from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), stressed the need to enhance cooperation between the Arab League and the OIC in developing and integrating boycott mechanisms. The agenda included measures such as banning non-compliant companies, removing companies that corrected violations, and reinforcing cooperation among regional boycott offices in Arab countries.

The conference reaffirmed its call for all countries, institutions, companies, and individuals to cease engagement with Israeli settlements established on occupied Palestinian territory. This includes banning the import of settlement products and prohibiting investments, as these activities constitute violations of international law.

Delegates expressed appreciation for the international Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement and solidarity campaigns worldwide. They commended their alignment with international law and their growing impact in confronting Israel's settler-colonialism, occupation, and apartheid. They praised entities supporting the international boycott movement and renewed their call for the global community to uphold justice by boycotting Israel and its colonial settlements.

Palestine's Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Ambassador Muhannad Al-Aklouk, called for an immediate end to the export, supply, or transfer of military products to Israel. He also called for legal action against individuals on the "Shame List" adopted by the Arab Summit, which names Israeli officials involved in committing or inciting genocide.

Al-Aklouk emphasized the moral and legal responsibility faced by the world, urging the boycott to serve as a tool to halt genocide by Israel and pursue accountability for aggression, genocide, and ethnic cleansing. He highlighted the boycott's role in supporting the Palestinian people and upholding international law principles.

Al-Aklouk also commended the Spanish Prime Minister's call to exclude Israel from international cultural events, including the Eurovision Song Contest, stating that Israel's participation amid ongoing acts of genocide constitutes complicity and indirect legitimization of the colonial occupation regime.
