Gaza Death Toll Reaches 53,939 Amid Ongoing Conflict

Gaza: At least 38 Palestinians were killed and 204 others were injured in the Gaza Strip over the last 24 hours as a result of the ongoing conflict in the region, according to medical sources.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, local health authorities confirmed that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli actions since October 2023 has risen to 53,939 fatalities, with an additional 122,797 people sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.

The same sources reported that the death toll since Israel's resumption of military actions on March 18, after a two-month truce, has also climbed to 3,785, with 10,756 others injured.

Emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli forces continue to target ambulance and civil defense crews, according to the health authorities.

The conflict continues despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent further casualties and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
