Beirut: Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health announced on Sunday that the cumulative death toll from the Israeli war on Lebanon since March 2 has risen to 3,613, while the number of injured has reached 11,072.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, figures released by the Public Health Emergency Operations Center indicate that the highest casualty rates were recorded in the Nabatieh and South governorates. The data revealed significant impacts on Lebanon's healthcare infrastructure, with 17 hospitals sustaining damage and three hospitals forced to shut down amid the ongoing conflict.
The conflict has also severely affected emergency response efforts. The ministry documented 166 attacks against ambulance and emergency response teams, resulting in the deaths of 131 healthcare workers and injuries to 386 others. Additionally, since the outbreak of the war, 169 ambulances and 36 emergency medical centers have been damaged, further straining the country's healthcare system.
