Lebanese Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati discussed with visiting French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne, the latest developments in southern Lebanon. During his meeting with Sejourne, Mikati stressed the importance of supporting the extension of the UNIFIL mandate in southern Lebanon for another year. For his part, the French Foreign Minister reiterated his country's support for Lebanon and its standing by its side, expressing his hope that Lebanon would continue to avoid escalation and exercise self-restraint during this difficult period.
