Gaza Strip: The Kuwait Specialized Hospital in Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip, has issued a warning about the possible collapse of the health system. This alarming situation is attributed to a severe shortage of medicines, medical supplies, and food necessary for patient care amidst ongoing Israeli aggression, the closure of crossings, and the denial of aid entry.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the hospital released a statement highlighting that the Gaza Strip is facing a critical shortage of more than 75% of essential medicines. This shortage has led to a significant decline in the hospital’s ability to provide medical services to patients, placing the continuity of health services at severe risk.
The hospital further noted that the current stock of medicines and medical supplies is only sufficient for a week, which could result in the cessation of most medical services at the facility if urgent intervention is not undertaken. The statement underscored the urgency of the situation, stating, “We are sounding the alarm over the severe shortage of most medicines, essential foods, and medical supplies.”
