Kuwait Municipality announced on Sunday they extinguished a blaze at the waste site south of the seventh ring road with municipal equipment present at the site. Director of the Public Relations Department Mohammad Sandan said in a press release that the high increase in temperature in open areas with flammable waste led to the outbreak of fire. Sandan reported a significant increase in the amount of rubble and waste removed from in front of commercial and residential properties across all six governorates over the past two days. He revealed the waste removed on Thursday and Friday was approximately 568 tons, marking a 400 percent increase from the usual rate of 100 to 150 tons, most were flammable and exceeded the site's capacity.
