JEDDAH, Kuwait's preparations for the annual Islamic Hajj pilgrimage are now fully in place, the country's consul general to Saudi Arabia's Red Sea city of Jeddah Mohammad Al-Mutairi said on Tuesday, citing a higher national committee. Kuwait, thanks in part to its geographical location, has long been a "crossing point" for Muslim pilgrims heading to the holy city of Mecca to attend Haj, said the official, who also serves as the country's permanent delegate to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, highlighting their immense contributions towards the pilgrimage. Holding talks with Saudi Arabia's Haj minister Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rubaie, the Kuwaiti diplomat thanked the Gulf Arab kingdom for their strenuous efforts every year to ensure the Hajj pilgrimage is held smoothly and successfully, praising the meteoric development Riyadh has seen in recent years.
