His Majesty King Abdullah II, in a phone call on Monday with Chad President Idriss Déby, discussed the latest regional developments and the dangerous situation in Gaza. His Majesty stressed the need to reach an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza, as well as increase the flow of humanitarian aid to the Strip unimpeded, in order to avoid the exacerbation of the humanitarian catastrophe. The King noted the importance of stepping up efforts to enhance the security and stability of the region and confront regional challenges, noting the need to create a political horizon to achieve just and comprehensive peace on the basis of the two-state solution. The two leaders also discussed bilateral relations and ways to expand cooperation in various fields. During the phone call, His Majesty congratulated President Déby on winning the presidential elections, wishing him success, and the people of Chad further progress and prosperity.
