Industrial Policy Strategy, which was approved by the Council of Ministers during the first quarter of 2024, is "complementary and has a "greater" capability to produce goods with "high added" value, provide "comprehensive" job opportunities for Jordanians and achieve "faster" shift towards "sustainable" production, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yousef Shamali, said. During the 2nd meeting of the national team to follow up on the Strategy Implementation Document 2024-2028 Tuesday, Shamali praised the "distinguished" partnership between the Kingdom's public and private sectors in outlining an action plan to carry out the policy's axes and sectors. Head of the national team to follow up on the document's implementation, the ministry's Secretary General, Dana Zoubi, highlighted progress made in this regard since the first meeting held last March and the executive action plans launched for this purpose. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Fathi Jaghbir, commended the "ha rmonious" efforts with the public sector to modernize the Kingdom's industrial sector, which helped improve "quality" of the national product locally and globally. Jaghbir said the strategy's "participatory" implementation promises an "unprecedented qualitative" shift, especially since it brings under its umbrella the Kingdom's "vital" ministries that will overcome all challenges that impede achievement and enhance society's confidence in development efforts. Speaking at the meeting, Head of the Zarqa Chamber of Industry (ZCI), Fares Hamoudeh, stated that the industrial policy aims to enhance national exports and increase the "productive" capabilities of the local industry, especially with the surge in exports in recent years, especially to the United States and Arab countries, primarily food, pharmaceutical and construction industries.
