Jordanian FM Urges Swift International Action for Humanitarian Aid Entry into Gaza

Gaza: Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi emphasized the urgent need for global intervention to facilitate the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Safadi highlighted that the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza stems from Israel's ongoing aggression and its obstruction of aid delivery. He called for immediate international action to enforce aid delivery through relevant UN organizations, in accordance with international law and humanitarian law. In a meeting with Philippe Lazzarini, Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Safadi stressed that Israel's actions, which deny the Palestinian people access to essential resources like food and medicine, amount to a war crime and a violation of international laws and shared human values. He urged the global community to address this issue promptly and effectively. Safadi reaffirmed UNRWA's crucial and irreplaceable role in Gaza and its other areas of operation, underlining Jordan's commitment to supporting the agency. He also highlighted the necessity for collective efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, achieve a comprehensive ceasefire, and support mediation efforts by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States.
