The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) and the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) have signed a cooperation agreement to launch a series of humanitarian projects aimed at supporting displaced individuals in Gaza. The initiative includes the distribution of 60,000 food parcels and 15,900 cubic meters of drinking water to those in shelter camps across the Gaza Strip. In addition, the two entities agreed to implement a water supply project involving distributing 50,000 jerrycans of mineral water. Another agreement focuses on providing essential medicines and medical supplies for surgical operations in Gaza, reflecting the urgent need for healthcare support in the region. The signing ceremony, attended by Qatar's Ambassador to Jordan, Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani, also marked the launch of the third phase of food aid as part of the Jordanian land bridge to Gaza. This phase includes sending 3,000 food parcels out of a total of 23,500 parcels planned for distribution, along with the first batch of 4,000 jerrycans of mineral water. Al Thani highlighted the importance of the partnership between Qatar and Jordan in delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, stating, "Jordan is the real artery for sending this aid." The $5 million cooperation agreement between the QRCS and the JHCO underscores their commitment to addressing the urgent needs of displaced populations, particularly in food, water, and healthcare, he added. The QRCS Secretary-General Faisal Al-Emadi emphasized the long-standing collaboration with the JHCO, noting that thousands of tons of food, medicine, water, and other relief supplies have been sent to alleviate the suffering of Gazans. Hussein Shibli, Secretary-General of the JHCO, acknowledged the shared humanitarian vision that has fueled their joint efforts. He praised the continuous support from the Qatari Embassy in Jordan, particularly the personal involvement of Ambassador Al Thani in overseeing the projects. Source: Jordan News Agency
