Amman: Jordan has condemned Israel's recent resumption of aggression against the Gaza Strip, which has involved widespread airstrikes affecting various areas and resulting in significant casualties. At least 400 Palestinian civilians, including women and children, have lost their lives, with nearly 500 others injured.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its spokesperson Ambassador Sufyan Al-Qudah, emphasized the importance of Israel adhering to the ceasefire agreement. This agreement was achieved through diplomatic efforts by Qatar, Egypt, and the United States.
Al-Qudah highlighted the risks associated with the Israeli military's actions, warning that continued attacks on Gaza could further destabilize an already volatile region. The Ministry's statement urged the international community to fulfill its legal and moral obligations to enforce a ceasefire, safeguard the Palestinian population, provide necessary humanitarian aid, and hold Israel accountable for breaches of international and humanitarian laws.
Additionally, Al-Qudah called for the opening of crossings to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza, which is currently experiencing a severe humanitarian crisis.
