The national football team topped Group VII of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, after beating its Saudi counterpart on Tuesday. The national team prevailed in the match, which was held in the sixth and final round of the second round competitions in the seventh group, and played at Al Awwal Park Stadium in Saudi Arabia, with two goals against one. The Saudi team opened the scoring through Ali Lagami in the 16th minute, and the national team equalized the score in the 27th minute through Ali Alwan, while Nour Al-Rawabdeh doubled the score and gave the national team the lead before the end of the first half. The national team raised its score to 13 points at the top of the group, with a goal difference from the Saudi team, which was runner-up with the same score. The national and Saudi teams had already qualified for the third round of the qualifiers, while Tajikistan and Pakistan, who played in the same group as the national team, didn't make it to the qualifiers.
