The Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) and the International Committee for Industrial Innovation (ICII) of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at establishing a new joint platform for international technology and industrial cooperation and enhancing scientific and technological cooperation. The signing of the MoU is part of efforts to enhance partnership and knowledge exchange in scientific and technological industries with various local and international bodies, said Mohammad Al-Jaytan, JCI vice president, pointing out that the JCI continues to exert efforts to develop and improve the local industry in a way that reflects on increasing and supporting competitiveness in the local and foreign markets. Al-Jaytan added that the MoU is a step in enhancing cooperation and raising capacities in energy, water, sustainability, innovation, and information technology and benefiting from Chinese expertise in these fields. For his part, the representat ive of the plastic and rubber industries sector in the JCI, Alaa Abu Khazna, pointed to the importance of cooperation and benefiting from the Chinese expertise as well as developing industrial zones and clusters in Jordan, which are in need of development in terms of infrastructure and wastewater treatment in order to improve the services provided in them and address issues they face.
